My hubby turned 22! I wanted him to have a fun birthday with his family and his best friends from high school, so I waited until Memorial Day (his birthday is May 2) for school to be out and graduations to be done so that everybody could make it! (Before I start on my process, Payton's favorite food is pineapples.) It was a surprise party, so I handwrote invitations with cute pineapples on them asking for
everyone to show up and surprise our sweet fineapple friend. (hehehehe) I ordered Payton a pineapple swimsuit and told him to wear it to my parents' pool party on Memorial Day. He was super stoked and little did he know that all of my brother's would have matching swimsuits, haha! We got a pineapple pool floatie at Target and it took *forever* to blow up, but it happened! We swam some to start off as we waited for others to arrive, and then we played games.
To the left is a game where each person held 2 balloons in their hands (there were more people than the picture shows) and some of the balloons had glitter in them, some had water! Payton had to pop one balloon at a time, his goal was to find the balloon with $20 in it. For every balloon that he popped that didn't have the money, he got water balloons thrown at him. (we had an entire cooler dedicated to "Payton's-water-balloon-throwing") What he didn't know, was that the $20 was in my brother's pocket! So he popped 22 balloons and got soaking wet with glitter stuck to him and then my brother pulled out the money, haha! We then broke up into 2 teams and played relay races with real pineapples! They were so pokey.
I went all out on pineapple decor!
I even got pineapple flavored candy for the piñata! My incredible friend made the best cookies ever! Find him on instagram, @illuminates_pastries. We had pineapple & pepper kabobs with fresh fruit and cookies! It was such a fun day, full of sweet treats and sweet friends! Love my fineapple so much!
Love,
Hosanna
