peace be with you

"beautiful mama" week 2: prayers for pregnancy

"A peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6

Thank you, Lord, for your son:

Our Prince of Peace!

The Lord wanted me to really focus on peace surrounding three major areas of grief and anxiety in women's/mother's hearts:

Grief in Miscarriages

Anxiety in Pregnancy

Grief in the Season of Waiting

Nothing can prepare a woman's heart for the grief and agony she will experience losing a life inside of her.

It's a grief so deep, there are no words to describe it.

But take heart, Mama.

Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those crushed in spirit."

You may be totally lost in the darkness that grief possesses; you may feel completely crushed in spirit, but you are not alone. God is near to you, Mama.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4.

And who better to comfort us than God:

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles," 2 Corinthians 1:3

I pray that the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with the hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Being pregnant carries its own set of anxieties and fears, and not just the ones we addressed last week (birth defects, miscarriage and labor pain) but also just pure chaos:

Raging hormones,

Body insecurities,

Morning sickness,

It's just a sea of chaos in our hearts sometimes and it's hard to find peace or even rest.

But thank you Jesus that you died on the cross so that we can claim victory over that chaos and bring peace to the waves that surround us, and sometimes drown us, during pregnancy!

You are our Prince of Peace, (Isaiah 9:6) and we cling to you!

We step into your promises today, declaring peace over our anxious and fatigued hearts.

I pray that the Lord of peace himself gives you peace at all times and in every way!

(2 Thessalonians 3:16)

Your Season of Waiting

All over social media I've been seeing women continue to get negative, after negative, after negative pregnancy test.

It grieves me.

I don't have all of the answers; in fact I don't have any answers for why you are walking through such an isolating and painful season.

But I do know that you are not alone.

Thousands of women across social media are here to offer prayers, support, love and comfort.

As Christian women we are doing each other a disservice by not offering our homes and hearts for grieving women and I am personally inviting you into my life to grieve if you need a space to.

A lot of women feel like they have to suffer alone, but I say no more!

As we just read, God is our ultimate comfort, so let's turn on some worship music and cry together.

I'm here for you, Sister.

May the Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;

The Lord turn his face toward you

And bring you peace.

(Numbers 6:24-26)
